Day 1 - Edinburgh
Arrival in Edinburgh. Enjoy a City Sightseeing Bus Tour and explore the many attractions of this wonderful city.
We will include a tour and tasting session at the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre where you will learn the origins of malt whisky distilling and enjoy ‘a wee dram’.
Day 2, 3 & 4 - Speyside
Collect your car and and travel north to Speyside. A wonderfully scenic journey takes you to Dewars World of Whisky and on to Edradour, Scotland's smallest distillery. Further north you will pass Dalwhinnie Distillery, which stands at more than 1000 feet and is the highest in Scotland.
There are numerous Distilleries to visit as you wind your way through the charming towns and villages of Speyside, including the famous brands of Glenfiddich and Glenlivet. We'd recommend you reserve yourself a place on the Glenfiddich Connoisseurs Tour at Dufftown. The Speyside Cooperage at Craigellachie is a vital part of whisky production and Craigellachie is also the home to the Macallan Distillery.
Day 5 & 6 - The Isle of Skye
Travel on to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands, & follow the shores of brooding Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle before passing the most famous of Scotland's castles, Eilean Donan. From here its a short journey to your destination on the magical Isle of Skye.
You have a full day on Skye to sample some fine Island whiskies, visit romantic Dunvegan Castle or climb aboard a fabulous cruise which will take you into the heart of the Cuillin Mountains.
Day 7 - The Trossachs
Depart Skye & travel from the Highlands to the Lowlands with a drive through the heart of our country. En-route visit The Ben Nevis Distillery before arriving at your final destination in the Scottish Lakeland.
Day 8 - Onward Travel
Before you leave explore Stirling and its Medieval Castle, or take a leisurely trip on a paddle steamer along Loch Katrine. There are numerous wonderfully scenic drives throughout the Trossachs & this is also great walking country, whether you scale the Mountain tops or enjoy easier hill or loch-side tracks.
It is a short journey to Edinburgh to return your car before your onward travel. |
