NAMSA - 10th International Symposium on Codification

In October we were asked by NAMSA, a subsidiary of NATO, to provide luxury coach transportation for an International Symposium that took place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. For this we worked closely with the Ministry of Defence in Glasgow to ensure that all the transportation needs of the 550 international delegates were met throughout the week of the Symposium.

The specific tranport needs for this Conference are detailed below.

Task 1

The provision of a shuttle service to convey 300 attendees from Edinburgh Airport to all conference hotels (Ibis / Carlton Hotel, Jurys Inn, Point Hotel, Novotel and Sheraton Grand) and the EICC. The shuttles stopped at all conference hotels and the EICC as required by the attendees on board.

Dates                  Sunday 9th October between 09.00 and 21.00 hours

                           Monday 10th October between 09.00 and 15.00 hours

Frequency          Departing every 45 minutes form the Airport

4 x 48 seater coaches were used for each day.

Task 2

The provision of a shuttle service between the Carlton Hotel and the EICC to enable attendees and exhibitors to register for the Conference and then return to their hotels.

Date                    Monday 10th October between 14.00 and 17.30 hours

Frequency          Departing every 60 minutes from each location

Task 3

The transporting of 200 delegates from the EICC to a reception at Edinburgh Castle. Return transport of attendees to the EICC and conference hotels on completion of the reception.

Return to EICC and Hotels           Depart Edinburgh Castle at 20.45 hours

Task 4

The transporting of 250 people from the Carlton Hotel and the Jury’s Inn to the EICC, and returning attendees to their hotels at the close of the day’s programme.

Outward journey             Depart Carlton Hotel and Jurys Inn at 08.00

Return journey                 Depart EICC at 17.15 hours

4 x 52 seater coaches allocated to the Carlton Hotel

1 x 52 seater coach allocated to the Juy’s Inn

Task 5

The transporting of 500 people from all conference hotels and EICC to the Royal Museum of Scotland for the Official Conference Dinner. On completion of event, return attendees to their hotels.

Return journey                  Departing Royal Museum of Scotland at 23.30 hours

Task 6

The Provision of 2 x 48 seater coaches on Thursday 13th October at the Mansfield Traquair to pick-up delegates after the Conference Ceilidh and transport them back to their hotels.

Task 7

The provision of a shuttle service to transport attendees from their hotels to Edinburgh Airport.

Date                           Friday 14th October between 09.00 and 17.00 hours

                                  Saturday 15th October between 09.00 and 13.00 hours

Frequency                 Departing every 45 minutes from the first hotel

4 x 48 seater coaches used for each day.
