The Rob Roy Way                   your travel options

A self-guided walking holiday through the spectacular scenery of the Southern Highlands

The Rob Roy Way is a wonderful long distance walking route through the Southern Highlands, linking the diverse scenery of the Trossachs with spectacular Highland Perthshire.

This 79 mile trail passes through some fine Highland scenery, meandering through beautiful glens and following tracks alongside fast-flowing rivers and shimmering lochs. The track also climbs over several high passes which provide magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.

The Rob Roy Way begins in the picturesque village of Drymen on the outskirts of Glasgow, close to the shores of Loch Lomond.

The track passes by the lovely waters of Loch Venachar, Loch Lubnaig, Loch Earn and Loch Tay and, as it's name suggests, follows in the footsteps of legendary Rob Roy MacGregor, the fearless Highland clansman and cattle reiver. It ends in the pretty Victorian spa town of Pitlochry, set at the foot of Ben Vrackie.
