Detailed Travel Information on getting to the start of the walk at Drymen and returning from Pitlochry at the end of the walk will be supplied in your Information Pack, but the following may help with your planning:

Travelling to Scotland:

Travelling by air:

Nearest International Airports - Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick.

Easyjet and Ryanair are Budget airlines which fly into both airports. Transfers from Glasgow International Airport can be arranged to Drymen. This will cost approximately £ 60 for 4 people. Alternatively, you can take the airport shuttle bus into Glasgow (journey time approx 25 mins).

A train service operates between Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Glasgow City Centre (journey time 45 mins).

Travelling by rail:

GNER and Virgin Rail both operate train services to and from Scotland. From Glasgow, First Scotrail operate services to Milngavie and to other destinations around the country. From Milngavie it is then a 30 minute bus journey to Drymen.

Travelling by road:

Citylink coaches operate bus services to Glasgow, and you can then take a bus out to Drymen. If you plan to travel by car we can advise you of secure car parking facilities in Drymen.

Travelling by ferry:

Superfast ferries operate services between Zeebrugge and Rosyth (near Edinburgh). It is then approximately a 60 minute drive to Drymen.

Getting to the Start at Drymen:

Drymen is just 20 miles north of Glasgow City Centre and a frequent bus service runs regularly from Glasgow to Drymen throughout the day. The journey time is approximately one hour.

Returning from Pitlochry:

Trains and buses operate regularly throughout the day travelling south to Glasgow and Edinburgh and north to Inverness. Journey time is approximately 2 hours for each journey.

Taxi Service:

If you'd rather travel to Drymen for the start of your walk and return from Pitlochry at the end by taxi, then we'd be delighted to provide you with a quote for this service. Return transfers are available from all Scottish Airports and Train Stations.
