Travel Information Detailed Travel Information on getting to the start of the walk at Buckie and returning from Aviemore at the end of the walk will be supplied in your Information Pack, but the following may help with your planning: Travelling to Scotland: Travelling by air: Nearest International Airport - Aberdeen Airport Domestic Airports - Aberdeen / Inverness Airports Easyjet is a Budget airline which flys into both airports. It operates flights into Inverness Airport from London Luton, London Heathrow and Bristol and into Aberdeen Airport from London Luton. It is then approximately a 2 and a half hour journey by coach from Inverness or Aberdeen to Buckie. Travelling by rail: GNER and Virgin Rail both operate train services to and from Scotland. There are train services which travel from London Kings Cross to Aberdeen and Inverness (journey times are 7 hours and 9 hours respectively) From Aberdeen or Inverness, First Scotrail operate services to Keith (journey time approx 1 hour) and it is then a 30 minute bus journey to Buckie. Travelling by road: Citylink coaches operate bus services to Buckie from Inverness and Aberdeen. If you plan to travel by car we can advise you of secure car parking facilities in Buckie. Travelling by ferry: Superfast ferries operate services between Zeebrugge and Rosyth (near Edinburgh). It is then approximately a 4 hour drive to Buckie.
Getting to the Start of the walk at Buckie: There are normally trains from Inverness and Aberdeen to Keith every hour (journey time approx 1 hour). It is then a 30 minute bus journey to Buckie. There are bus services to Buckie from Inverness and Aberdeen (journey time approx 2 and a half hours). Returning from Aviemore: There are regular bus and train services south to both Edinburgh and Glasgow (journey time approx 3 hours) and regular bus and train services north to Inverness (45 minutes). Taxi Service: If you'd rather travel to Buckie for the start of your walk and return from Aviemore at the end by taxi, then we'd be delighted to provide you with a quote for this service. Return transfers are available from all Scottish Airports and Train Stations.
