“A big thank you for planning everything for us. We had a GREAT time doing the walk and it was really very handy to have everything pre-booked and also the baggage company arranged. All we had to do was concentrate on walking....which was hard enough...so thank you for all your help.

All the accommodation we stayed in was lovely and all your recommendations of places to eat were very helpful. We treated ourselves to some lovely food at the end of each hard day so thanks again for your suggestions.

We walked every step of the way and were very proud of ourselves. Everything therefore worked out as planned which was great.

The weather was fantastic all week, and from Monday afternoon, right through to the end of the walk, we had nothing but bright sunshine and calm days. Who says Scotland doesn't get good weather?

“Wow! The trek was wonderful and perhaps even more challenging than I expected.

Lodging, all in all, was great, although I think you spoiled us with a sauna, hot tub and pool in Drymen! Anchorage Cottage shows much better than its Web site and Izzy and Ivor are a delight. Kingshouse is worth the experience. Tigh-na-Cheo and Distillery House were simply magnificent!

I cannot properly state how wonderful the trip and the experience were. Everything worked as it should. Lodging was delightful.

The weather was kind . . . and utterly Scottish. It rained on five of seven days and only one of the other two was sunny. But I expected that. Curiously, the toughest day in terms of the elements was a function of wind in our faces from Crianlarich to Tyndrum. We, and everyone we met, were thoroughly whipped when we gathered for a post-walk whetting of the whistle.

Perhaps next time I'll have more success with my sons, making the outing a family affair. In the meantime, thanks for all you did setting things up. It was most memorable and enjoyable.

The Distillery House and Dalcomera were first class, the welcome everywhere was warm and we even had an invitation to join an evening's Country Dance class from our Hostess at Invermoriston as she is the teacher. Fiddlers was an education in hospitality and Malts.

“Dear Escape 2 Scotland, just thought that I would write to let you know how we got on - we completed the WHW on schedule and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. George having never experienced this kind of holiday before wants to do it again.

All the accommodations booked were excellent, the Hospitality second to none, and the food very

substantial. Izzy at Anchorage outshone them all, was very friendly and afforded superior hospitality, and the quality of service was outstanding.

Everyone we met actually exceeded expectations, and was prepared to go out of their way to ensure the success of our trek.

Tigh-na-cheo Guest House in Kinlochleven was also an outstanding place to stay, George was very welcoming and even allowed us entry to our room early as we completed this section in record time. The food at Tailrace was also very good.

Distillery house made a pleasant end to our little adventure. The baggage collection service "Travelite" worked extremely well and on the last day excelled by bringing our luggage directly to Distillery House so that we did not need to drag them across Nevis Bridge.

“I just wanted to drop you a note on behalf of myself and my friend, Louise, to say thank you for organising such a fantastic week for us on the West Highland Way.

We both had an amazing time, and I don't think I've quite adjusted to life back in "civilisation" yet!

It was a wonderful walk, and we both felt a great sense of achievement when we finally arrived at Fort William! And that first pint at the Nevis Bank Hotel ... well, I'm sure you can appreciate how welcome it was!

The organisation on the trip was absolutely first class - we never had any problems with our bags, the places we stayed were lovely (very clean and comfortable, and the folk running the B&Bs were very welcoming), and the walk itself was a wonderful way of clearing one's head. We also met up with some great folk along the way, and we'll be swapping emails for some time to come, I'm sure!

“We had an absolutely fantastic trip, not a hitch! All the arrangements you made were impeccable, the accommodations excellent and I must say, it is a delight to arrive soaking wet and know your bag of dry clothes will be waiting for you!

We walked from Crianlarich to Fort William and loved every second. We loved each day equally because they were so different and so beautiful. I was amazed at how unpopulated the area could be. We spent a few days in Edinburgh and 3 days in the Borders. The days in Edinburgh and the Borders were all under a sunny spring sky and all the trees were in blossom. I really recommend early spring in Scotland! There are lots of vacancies in the small town guest houses and hotels and we met only wonderful people!

“Thanks for the great pack and superb itinerary. Having just got back from the most wonderful holiday on the West Highland Way (including Ben Nevis) I felt I must write to say thanks for your part -

- the book was useful. We went through a summary of the relevant chapter each morning in preparation for each day's walk.

- the bagage transfer worked really well - AMS even took an extra (small) bag for us.

- our overnight accommodation was generally excellent, each place better than the last!. Especially the B&Bs. It was really a highlight wondering what the next place would be like.

- you may like to know that the restaurant "No. 4" in Fort Willam is brilliant. Slightly more expensive the food and service are wonderful – and this is a great place to celebrate the end of the walk.

“Just a quickie to say that Andrew and I had a WONDERFUL holiday walking the West Highland Way last week.

Our favourite hotel was the Huntingtower Lodge in Fort William - it was like being at home (only the breakfast was better!). I cannot recommend it highly enough. We loved every stage of the walk - even when it poured down on Rannoch Moor.

“Just to say what a wonderful time we had last week on the West Highland Way. The amazing weather helped to make it even more memorable. Having lived in the North-east of Scotland for over 20 years I never thought it would be positively Mediterranean weather and too hot to walk!!

All our accommodation was very good too. The B&B’s were excellent especially at Kinlochleven. Everywhere was very welcoming with excellent service, especially the Bridge of Orchy.... luxurious and great food!

The guidebook was excellent and the map easy to follow for us novices. What luxury to always find our luggage waiting for us too, thanks to AMS!

“Thank you very much for the postcard which I received yesterday. My brother and I actually had a very nice walk in Scotland, we truly enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the Great Glen Way.

The walk itself was magnificent, and we were very lucky with the weather - we only had one morning of rain (in Fort Augustus, so we decided to take a boat trip on Loch Ness and by the time we left Fort Augustus it had stopped raining).

“We would like to say to you for our holiday – it was perfect. The Rob Roy Way was a very nice to walk.

Callander - that B&B is so fantastic, great, splendid and the people, Lesley and her husband were lovely. This was the best B&B we had. The walk was great.

In Strathyre the B&B was good. The people were very nice. We played golf and the B&B brought us to the golf course and in the evening he picked us up again.

The fifth day in Killin. A very good B&B - John was very nice. The walk was splendid - it looks almost like a jungle and John picked us up and we went for a sight-seeing trip with him around the Loch. Also played 18 holes.

The last days were in Pitlochry. A nice B&B. We went to the theatre and had a great time in Pitlochry.

I just wanted to let you know that we had a really great walking holiday in your beautiful country last August.

The sceneries are so stunning ! Even the weather was very satisfactory. I thank you very much for the perfect luggage pick-up service, your selection of nice and romantic B&B's where the hosts warmly welcomed us and in overall for the entire organization of the trip.

“We just received your post card today. Can I say that this final personal touch is typical of all the care we received on our holiday along the West Highland Way. We made it through the rain and the sun and a wondrous absence of midges. Thankfully the only really wet day was also our shortest and the Bridge of Orchy has excellent drying facilities.

We also encountered the best B&B we've ever visited in F William. The welcome, facilities, food and assistance we found at Huntington Tower Lodge were all excellent. They'd even brought our rucksacks into the room which meant so much on the last day. They deserve a special mention and full bookings for the future (except when we want to go back !!)

So thanks again for all your help at such short notice we are already thinking of doing another walk next year.”

“We returned from our walking holiday in Scotland last Wednesday and I must say that it was a great experience. We'd never walked long distances before but after finishing the West Highland Way, we're now sure it is certainly worth repeating!

The accommodation (as well as the luggage transport) was arranged to perfection. After the first day we never doubted that our bags would be at our destination and that we would have somewhere nice

We will be sure to contact you again if and when we do decide to go 'walkabout' in Scotland again! And we will most certainly recommend you to our friends with plans in that direction!

“All arrangements worked well, no glitches. AMS were excellent and especially helpful about the return trip. Izzy is lovely and gets our vote for "Landlady of the Way"; Phil at Brudair was very friendly and helpful and the facilities were excellent and we were offered the option of porridge for the first time; Macdonald Hotel was a good experience all round, including kippers for breakfast; Glengyle, apart from being well sited is welcoming, commodious and comfortable.

We have done many long distance walks and despite both being 65+ we did not find WHW presented any difficulties, continuing to Inverness would have been just perfect.

“We have at last got around to thanking you for a wonderful holiday. Walking the West Highland Way had long been an ambition of ours and it far exceeded our expectations. We were lucky with the weather, only two bad days out of eleven, which from past experience we realise was very lucky! All the organisation was excellent and we had no problems at all.

A couple of things stand out for us, Anchorage Cottage, a lovely couple who fully lived up to their reputation, Inversnaid Lodge, with an excellent meal and very interesting company.
