Speyside & the Cairngorms National Park
Overview
A 6 day self-guided walking holiday amongst the deep glens, ancient pine forests & high plateaus of the Cairngorms National Park.
|
The Cairngorms is the wildest and most extensive area of uplands in Scotland and embraces the largest areas of land over 1200m.
The Cairngorms and Speyside offer a landscape like no other and are one of the loveliest and most unspoilt parts of the British Isles. From the high plateau which boasts 4 of the 5 highest peaks in Scotland, to the deep glens which cut through the mountains, the pristine ancient pine forests and the sparkling lochans they surround.
Our self-guided walking holiday is focused mainly around the Northern Cairngorms & Speyside. This beautiful region is the perfect base for a walking holiday in Scotland, whatever your goals are.
Of course one of the other highlights of Speyside is the opportunity to visit some of the most famous whisky distilleries in the World, including Glenfiddich, Glenlivet and the Macallan.

Walking in The Cairngorms
The Mountains of the
Cairngorms are popular with climbers and hillwalkers year-round. These are the wildest uplands anywhere in Britain, with arctic tundra and superb high corries. These Mountains include Ben MacDui, the UK’s 2nd highest peak, and Ben Avon, perhaps the most remote summit in Scotland. Unless you are an experienced walker or mountaineer we would recommend that you hire the services of a local guide to climb these high plateaus and the Information Pack we provide includes contact details for locally-based guides.
