Self-Guided Walking -Wester Ross

The snow-capped hills of Wester Ross
Overview
A 6 day self-guided walking holiday in a remote and starkly beautiful Highland area, with lonely glens and lochs, white sandy beaches and some of the highest mountains in Scotland. |
Wester Ross is a remote and starkly beautiful Highland area, with lonely glens and lochs, white sandy beaches and some of the highest mountains in Scotland. It has some of the most beautiful unspoilt scenery in the world, with undiscovered beaches, forests, hidden glens with stags grazing, waterfalls, breathtaking twisty single track roads, and all caressed by the gulf-stream which feeds the tropical gardens and comparably mild weather.
You will spend the first three nights of your holiday in the shadow of the Liathach Mountain ridge in an area which is a popular base for hill-walkers. Picturesque villages and crofting townships are scattered all along this area of the western seaboard and there are beaches and mountains all around you.

Following the shores of Little Loch Broom and Loch Broom you will then travel north to your second destination.
Here you will spend four nights in a picturesque fishing village which enjoys a spectacular setting, with majestic mountains surrounding the village on all four sides. This is the main ferry port for travel onwards to the Western Isles. |
The hills here have mesmeric quality quite unlike anything else in Scotland. Stac Pollaidh, Quinag and Suliven are not so high in altitude, but they are striking in the way that they rise suddenly from the moor like humpbacked creatures emerging from the sea.
